Community Centre

The Schoolhouse was the site of Maryborough Primary School built in the 1880’s and has been lovingly restored to retain the beautiful historic features, while providing a modern and comfortable building with an abundance of natural light and warmth.

Our residents view the Schoolhouse as an extension of their own home and have access 24 hours a day. Residents are encouraged to use the facilities to host social functions with family and friends all year around.

Our generous kitchen is available at any time for residents community meals.

Throughout the week, residents may join in many activities at the Schoolhouse including yoga classes, craft classes, billiards, painting and drawing classes, Petanque Piste, group exercise classes and much more.

We’re a bit excited about our fun new toy… our brand new 12 seater van will allow us to take some great adventures together!

The Library is located adjacent to the Gathering Room in the Schoolhouse Community Centre. It’s a cosy room with an always growing collection of books and magazines.

Exercise Area in the Games Room

Our Exercise Area has a treadmill, stationary bike, weights, yoga mats and a WiiFit. We love our weekly Yoga classes.

Residents Come Together for Shared Meals

It’s wonderful when the residents use the generous facilities to bring the community together and share a meal.

Dining Room

Our Dining Room is a welcoming place where residents gather throughout the day for companionship, games, craft and organised events. You will often see residents coming together for morning tea in the Dining Room.

Residents Gather in the Dining Room

Our residents love to take advantage of the afternoon light in the Dining Room where they can spread out and work on their craft together.

Craft Room

There’s always something creative happening in the gorgeous old classroom, complete with its original slate blackboards. An artist’s dream space with abundant light and a wonderful feel. Here we host regular formal Art Classes and a resident-run Art Group within the village community.

BBQ Deck and Entertaining Area

This sunny space plays host to residents gatherings, sausage sizzles, family parties or a quiet cup of tea with beautiful views over the award-winning gardens.

The Living Room

Although it’s grand room with soaring ceilings, we gather here because it still has a wonderful warmth. You will find the residents here every Friday for Happy Hour Drinks and we hold our annual Christmas in July, Melbourne Cup and Grand Final events in the Living Room which has a TV with Foxtel and other major streaming services.

Space for Residents Projects

Sewing, Needlepoint, Life Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, weaving, mosaic…whatever your passion you can follow it here.

May your walls know joy; may each room hold laughter, and may every window open to great possibility.
